Bio

Aiming to creating emotionally connecting and visually engaging artworks, inspired by a combination of their education in psychology and art. Revealing stories that resonate with today, but with dream-like structures.

Believing art should be special and unique,  Clin focuses on original, commission and limited editions art works, whilst making them affordable and accessible.

Having studied the relationship between illustration and fine art to a Masters level, Clin's art straddles a combination of the two, self-taught in painting and drawing techniques they strive to continue their development and to ensure the art carries a message or strong emotion the viewer can find themselves pulled into.

Artist Statement

"What do you see? What do you feel?" conveying the experiences and emotions of an individual and society through storytelling art. To reveal a sad tale with smile, an ugly fact with a beautiful truth.

My work is designed to find what lies below the surface, carefully placing chosen objects to unfold more than what is initially expected. Full of colour and complexity, each piece begins from wanting to pass on a narrative, it could be how I feel at seeing something on the news, to highlight something we all experience, or even to tell a person's story beyond the initial appearance. Even still life is selected to be different from what we expect.

Knowing what I wish to communicate, I start to think of imagery related to this and from those I create a photo montage as a drawing reference - the medium pictured when the final image can be seen. For oils it adds a depth that seems both tangible but false, whilst drawings pull you more into the details of the image while removing you from its realism.

Constantly evolving to challenge myself, whilst inviting the viewer to come along.

Ethical Artwork

Being aware of the importance of protecting the environment, P N Clin works to incorporate ethical practices within their art.

Upon discovering that a surprising amount of art materials are toxic, bad for the environment and include animal derivatives -whether this is animal parts or their produce. It is for this reason Clin aims to use products that are both non-toxic and vegan, even down to the packaging. The link below provides more information on the products used.
